The Tree Of Life shows up in many cultures. The roots grow up into the sky with the branches reaching down into the earth. Here is where we understand that the material world and the spiritual world are but a reflection of one another as in the reflection of a tree at the water's edge. I have sculpted this piece in a Yoga pose called Adho Mukha Vrksasana which is translated as "Downward Facing Tree". The Tree Of Life is symbolized by the Banyon tree which is thought of as perfectly symbolizing life due to it's unending expansion of growth.

Tree Of Life is a one of a kind (OOAK), paperclay hand crafted over wire armature, hand painted with water base paints and real mohair for her mane. Her musculature is very detailed and anatomically correct. Bamboo branches make up the branches above her. She is 22" tall including her base and 18" in diameter. Her body is approximately 13" tall.

Thank you for looking and please visit my blog at ArtOfElysee.blogspot.com to see the new pieces I am working on.

Tree Of Life is currently for sale on ETSY where you can see many more photos of her. [link]

This is just awesome! I'm fascinated by the tree of life images sculpting etc. You really knocked it out of the park with this one! Do you still have this sculpture and is it for sale?

Hi Judith,

Thank you so much for the support of my work and your interest. I do indeed still have this piece as my work is just now in galleries and shows (at last). In the gallery my work is usually $800.00 on average and I sell it to private individuals at half of that. However this piece I am willing to sell at $200.00. If you are interested let me know.

Blessings,

Lewisa
